Siruvani Waterfalls

Located 36 km to the west of Coimbatore in the Western Ghats and a popular tourist attraction for nature lovers. The falls is tucked away in lush green vegetation of Western Ghats. Water originating from the falls is one of the sweetest water in this region of the state. Forest area surrounding the Siruvani falls is a haven for a variety of flora and fauna.

Siruvani Waterfalls and Siruvani dam is a joint action of Tamil Nadu and Kerala Government to supply water to the region of Coimbatore. 

Watch out for elephants and other small animals during the evening.

Kovai Kutralam

Is a kovai Kutralam in Coimbatore is an excellent getaway spot. The place is true happiness for nature lovers in the mountain ranges of the western ghats. The lush green area surrounding the falls is a great place to spend time with your loved ones. For Children and those who enjoy chilly water, the cascadjng waterfall is a real treat.

The forest department maintains Kovai Kutralam very well. In the parking area, visitors can park their vehicles and have to walk/hike for a kilometre. During the weekends, the place usually gets crowded. While visiting the place, carry a change of clothes. The place is usually closed on Monday’s for maintenance.

Siruvani Waterfalls

Is a non-profit organisation founded by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev located in the foothills of Velliangiri near Coimbatore. Isha Yoga centre hosts Dhyanalinga, 112 feet tall AdiYogi shiva statue, Adiyogi Alayam, Theerthakund, etc. 

 Every Mahashivratri has celebrated lavishly in front of 112 feet AdiYogis Shiva statue and will be attended by Hundreds of Thousands of people. In fact, in the year of 2017 Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hon’ble President Ram Nath Kovind(2019) and Hon’ble Vice President Venkaiah Naidu(2020) attended the Mahashivaratri function in Isha Yoga centre.

Isha yoga center has become the top tourist attractions in Coimbatore. In the foothills of western ghats, one could feel the positive vibrations upon entering the premise.

Maruthamalai

Maruthamalai temple coimbatore

Arulmigu Subramanya Swami Temple is considered as the seventh House of Tamil kadavul Murugan. Temple was built in the 12th century by Tamil Kings of the Sangam period. Nested in the scenic view of western ghats, the temple is located 15km west of the Coimbatore. One could reach the temple from the bottom of the hill either by mountain trails or by road. The mountain trails are very well maintained by the temple management. There are few mandapams in the mountain trail so that the devotees can rest.

Siruvani Waterfalls

GD Naidu car museum is a unique vintage car museum located in Avinashi road, Coimbatore. The cars exhibited are the Private cars of Sri. G.D.Naidu industrialist and philanthropist of Coimbatore. If you love vintage cars, then this is a go-to go place in Coimbatore. Benz Motorwagen, Ford T, Austin 7, Rolls Royce Twenty are one of the few cars are on display.

Shopping

As Coimbatore is a commercial hub, you can get anything that is accessible in a metropolitan city. There are several shopping spots available in the city based on one’s needs. Oppanakara street is a great place for clothing, R.S Puram is the best place for a variety of products ranging from clothing to apparels etc. Another great shopping spot in Coimbatore is Cross cut road which is famous for the variety of Jewellery shops to textile showrooms.

Kari Motor speedway

If you are an automobile fanatic, Kari Motor speedway is the must-go place in the Coimbatore. 

Kari Motor Speedway is a racetrack located in Chettipalayam, Coimbatore. The circuit is built in 2003 and is 2.1 kilometres long. Kari Motor Speedway has hosted multiple racing events like JK Tyre National Racing Championship, Volkswagon Vento championship, MRF formula 1600 series etc.

Race events/Training can be organised via Coimbatore racing Academy Coimbatore.

TNAU Botanical

TNAU Botanical Garden

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University’s Botanical garden is located in Marudhamalai Rd, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The Garden is spread over 25 acres of land and is very well maintained by Tamil Nadu Agriculture University. The garden has rare species of trees and shrubs. 

The lush green surroundings also serve as a spot for spending the quality time with your loved ones. Photoshoots of weddings are done here. You could buy seeds, tree saplings in the nursery inside the garden area.

VOC Park & Zoo

V.O.C Park and Zoo are one of the top attractions in Coimbatore located near Coimbatore Central Jail. The park is named after freedom fighter V O Chidambaram Pillai. There is a park, children’s play area, Toy train, Jurassic park and aquarium and the park has over 300 species of trees. The zoo is located adjacent to the park and has over 30 species of mammals, birds and reptiles. Rosy Pelican, Camels, variety of deer species, a crocodile can be found in the zoo complex.

VOC park & Zoo is the best place for the kids and parents to spend their valuable time during weekends. There is a separate park for the seniors adjacent to the VOC park which is mostly used by the seniors for morning walks and recreational purposes.
